From concept to finished game asset

My Work for Elementaris

During my time at Serigami Games, I worked as a 2D Game Artist on the game Elementaris. In collaboration with one other artist, I was responsible for creating the game’s visual library. Since the art team was small and consisted of only two artists, my responsibilities were broad, ranging from concept design to final artwork, including animation and VFX. I worked on backgrounds, creature designs, UI elements, and in-game items.

Background Artworks

One of my main tasks during my work at Serigami Games was creating the backgrounds for the fighting scenes. Since Elementaris is a mobile game, the backgrounds had to be square to accommodate the different screen sizes of each device. Each background was separated into three layer types: foreground, player ground, and background, allowing the characters and enemies to fit into the space with a sense of depth. Simple animations were added using 2D rigging, and glow and lighting effects were created using VFX materials.

Some Background additionally got effent veriations. The Halloween version of the shimmering moor also received additional animations and lighting effects, changing the feeling of the scene.

Creature and Character Designs

Another part of my work was designing creatures and enemies that the player will face throughout the game. This again included drawing the game sprites and then animating the creatures using Unity’s 2D rigging feature. I also got to experiment with some frame-by-frame animations for a few creatures and VFX materials.
